The arrival of Pokémon Champions is a major event for fans of the Game Freak series, as it’s the franchise’s new competitive title and can be played completely free on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Android, and iOS (iPhone or iPad). Before diving into the competition, there’s something very important we need to do: customize our teams with all those Pokémon we’ve caught in games like Pokémon Scarlet / Violet, Arceus, Z-A, and GO, among others. You can do this through Pokémon HOME, and here’s how.
First things first: install the app on your console. You don’t need to install it on your phone or tablet to transfer Pokémon from other games, but it’s essential if you want to trade with friends.
Transferring Pokémon is very simple: when you open Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, you’ll see the save files for any game in which you’ve caught Pokémon. All you have to do is select each one and choose the Pokémon you want to send to one of the boxes in Pokémon HOME. You can transfer your Pokémon from the following Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 games.
In the case of Pokémon GO, the process is different from other games, as you must send your Pokémon directly from Pokémon GO. The process is quick and easy: go to the Settings menu, select Connected Devices and Services > Pokémon HOME > Send Pokémon. Once you’ve sent them, a notification will appear in Pokémon HOME (the mobile app) allowing you to receive them.

You cannot trade Pokémon from Pokémon HOME on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2. You can only do so from the mobile app by selecting the “Trades” tab. Remember that the free plan limits you to 10 trades per day.
