Coach Patty Gasso and the third-seeded Oklahoma Sooners will face the Mississippi State Bulldogs for a spot in the Women’s College World Series on Sunday in Game 3 of the NCAA softball super regionals at Love’s Field in Norman.
The Sooners forced a win-or-go-home game by rolling to a 7-1 win Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs stunned the Sooners 11-9 in Game 1 of the best-of-three series Friday, rallying with nine runs in the final two innings.
The Bulldogs (42-19) advanced to the Norman Super Regional by going undefeated at Oregon, beating Saint Mary’s 5-0 in the regional final May 17.
The Sooners (52-9) swept through their regional, beating Michigan 8-1 in last Sunday’s regional finale.
