Alabama softball is fighting to make a statement with the SEC Softball Tournament championship.
The No. 2-seeded Crimson Tide (49-6) earned a 9-1 run-rule win over No. 3 seed Florida (48-10) on Friday, May 8. Alabama first opened tournament play with a 7-1 win over No. 7 Arkansas (42-11) on Thursday.
The Crimson Tide meets No. 4 Texas, which is coming off a walkout 5-4 win over No. 9 Georgia.
Before now, Alabama had not reached the SEC Tournament championship game since 2021, when it won its last conference championship.

An RBI single put Texas on the board, and with the bases loaded, the Longhorns used a fielders choice to get up 2-1 with two outs at the top of the second inning.
Alabama softball has done what it’s been struggling to do: strike hard early. Alexis Pupillo hit a bomb of a solo home run with two outs at the bottom of the first to put Alabama up 1-0 over Texas. It was her 17th homer of the season.
SEC Player of the Year Katie Stewart singled off a hit against SEC Pitcher of the Year Jocelyn Briski, but Texas couldn’t capitalize. The Longhorns remain scoreless as Alabama gets ready to bat at the bottom of the first inning.
After dropping the series opener 9-1 vs. then-No. 1 Texas on Thursday, April 2, Alabama responded with back-to-back victories: an 11-4 revenge win Friday and a 7-4 rubber-match win Saturday to take the series.
