A big indie showcase has just wrapped up, and now I have a lot more games to look forward to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The third iteration of the Triple-I Initiative, an annual showcase for upcoming releases put on by a group of studios, aired on Thursday. It featured some familiar franchises, like an indie-developed Castlevania<\/em> and a new entry in the Don\u2019t Starve<\/em> series, as well as some impressive new titles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A new look at the Castlevania game from the developers behind Dead Cells<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Konami is teaming up with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, which worked on the hit roguelike Dead Cells<\/em>, on Castlevania<\/em>: Belmont\u2019s Curse<\/em>. It\u2019s a new sidescrolling game and the latest trailer<\/a> showed off more of the game and its Parisian setting. The game is scheduled to release this year on PC and consoles. (Despite the pedigree of its developers, the game isn\u2019t a roguelike<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Prove You\u2019re Human is a trippy-looking game about AI<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The team behind 1000xResist<\/em> has a new game, Prove You\u2019re Human<\/a><\/em>, that features an AI that thinks it\u2019s a human. It also looks like there are a lot of CAPTCHAs to fill out. We\u2019ve got a deeper dive on the game right here<\/a>, which is being published by a new publishing arm<\/a> from the developers of Slay the Princess<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Neverway is a horror-life sim RPG with stunning pixel art<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Neverway<\/a><\/em> mixes a life sim and horror with art from the pixel artist from Celeste<\/em>, and music from Disasterpeace. I\u2019m seated. It launches on PC and Nintendo Switch in October 2026, but you can play a \u201cprologue\u201d right now<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cairn, a game about rock climbing, is getting free DLC this summer<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I loved Cairn<\/em> when I played it earlier this year<\/a>, and there will be more to experience soon thanks to DLC launching this summer called On the Trail – Deep Water<\/em><\/a>. It\u2019s the first of a series of free updates in the works.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Don\u2019t Starve series is getting a new game<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

The Don\u2019t Starve<\/em> series of gothic survival games is getting a new title in the franchise: Don\u2019t Starve Elsewhere<\/a><\/em>. No word on when it\u2019s launching, but it will be available on Steam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Dead as Disco, a music-themed brawler game, is launching in early access next month<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

The new trailer for Dead as Disco<\/em><\/a>, a game where you beat up bad guys to awesome music, was flashy as hell, and it also had some news: the game will launch in early access on PC on May 5th.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Super Battle Golf, a multiplayer golf game, is coming to consoles<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Super Battle Golf<\/em> is a chaotic take on golf where everyone plays at the same time \u2014 and where you can also ram other players with golf carts or shoot them with items like bazookas. The game has already sold more than 1 million copies on PC<\/a>, and in summer 2026, it will come to consoles, too<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thick as Thieves looks like a stealthy good time<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thick as Thieves<\/a><\/em>, a new \u201cstealth-action heist game\u201d developed by the Warren Spector-led OtherSide Entertainment, will let you take on stealth missions solo or in co-op multiplayer. It launches on May 20th on Steam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Machine Party is a party game with violence<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The creator of Buckshot Roulette<\/em> is back with another vaguely horrifying title. This one is Machine Party<\/a><\/em>, a multiplayer party game with grotesque mini games like keeping up with an escalator to avoid being crushed by spikes. It\u2019s set to launch this summer on Steam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sled with your pals in Sledding Game at the end of the month<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Ever wanted to sled down a snowy hill as an adorable frog? Or go ice fishing or have a snowball fight? And all with your friends? Sledding Game<\/em> will let you do all of that when it launches in early access on April 30th<\/a> on Steam and Xbox.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Valor Mortis features first-person swashbuckling and zombies<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

I didn\u2019t expect to see a game featuring first-person swashbuckling, an alternate-history Napoleonic Wars setting, and zombies, but that\u2019s what you\u2019ll get with Valor Mortis<\/em><\/a>, a \u201cfirst-person action soulslike.\u201d It\u2019s set to launch this fall on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X \/ S.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Go treasure-hunting with your friends in Too Deep To Quit<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Too Deep To Quit<\/em> is a new co-op game where you explore temples with your pals for hidden treasure. I love the Muppet-inspired characters shown off in the trailer<\/a>. It\u2019s scheduled to launch this year on Steam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Final Sentence, a battle royale typing horror game, is out now<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Final Sentence<\/em> is a typing game<\/a> where you have to type accurately or you\u2019ll get shot in the head. That\u2019s one way to work on your words per minute, I suppose. It\u2019s out now on Steam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
