She added a matching orange headband, chunky bangles, and a white beaded necklace, to pull the whole look together<\/p>\n The occasion? A surprise video with Icelandic singer Laufey<\/strong>, who matched Liu’s retro vibe in a white crocheted minidress, white knee-high boots, a white headband, and white earrings. The two later met at one of Laufey’s live shows, where the singer gushed over Liu in front of the crowd. “She’s like the best figure skater in the world. Do you understand what this means for my 8-year-old figure skating heart?” Laufey said to the crowd. “An incredible athlete with an incredible story.”<\/p>\n And Liu certainly had an incredible run at the Milan Olympics. The reigning world champion surged from third place after the short program to claim gold in the free skate, posting a career-best score of 226.79 overall.
