After months of calls from fans and experts, Gable Steveson has finally been signed to the UFC.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last September, the Olympic gold medalist made his debut in MMA<\/a> after making the transition from wrestling, where he had an incredibly storied career.<\/p>\n

\n

Since then, the 25-year-old has gone on to score three emphatic knockout wins, despite having not been training striking for very long.<\/p>\n

But under the tutelage of former UFC<\/a> heavyweight champion, Jon Jones<\/a>, Gable Steveson<\/a> has made himself undeniable and he has now officially signed to the premier MMA promotion.<\/p>\n

Gable Steveson set to make UFC debut on International Fight Week<\/h2>\n

Not too long ago, Steveson announced that he had signed a contract with Real American Freestyle Wrestling<\/a>, which worried fans that he may not be pursuing MMA as hard as he had been.<\/p>\n

Despite that, during the UFC 327<\/a> broadcast on Saturday, it was announced that Steveson has officially signed with the UFC and he will make his long-awaited debut in the promotion on International Fight Week.<\/p>\n

The UFC 329 card will take place on July 11, and Conor McGregor is currently being targeted to make his comeback<\/a> on the 14th annual International Fight Week.<\/p>\n

At this point, Steveson doesn\u2019t have an opponent, however, it is likely that he will fight close to the rankings.<\/p>\n

\u201cHeavyweight got interesting tonight,\u201d Joe Rogan said during the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Gable coming to the UFC, that is absolutely huge, that guy is my number one prospect in the heavyweight division, he is a tremendous athlete, moves like a cat, that guy is the man, I\u2019m very excited to see him in the UFC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following one of Steveson\u2019s wins, Rogan called Dana White and personally asked him to sign the prospect<\/a>, but at the time, White likely wanted to see more from him.<\/p>\n

And with Jones now seemingly officially retired from the sport, again<\/a>, it leaves the door open for Steveson.<\/p>\n
