{"id":107111,"date":"2026-04-14T13:52:49","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T16:52:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ubirataonline.com.br\/lepas-l6-jaecoo-7-sibling-confirmed-for-uk-launch-as-phev-and-ev\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T13:52:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T16:52:54","slug":"lepas-l6-jaecoo-7-sibling-confirmed-for-uk-launch-as-phev-and-ev","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ubirataonline.com.br\/en\/lepas-l6-jaecoo-7-sibling-confirmed-for-uk-launch-as-phev-and-ev\/","title":{"rendered":"Lepas L6: Jaecoo 7 sibling confirmed for UK launch as PHEV and EV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Lepas L6 will arrive in the UK at the back end of the year as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-review\/Hyundai\/Kona\">Hyundai Kona<\/a>-rivalling crossover with hybrid and electric power.<\/p>\n<p>Cousin to the hugely popular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-review\/Jaecoo\/7\">Jaecoo 7<\/a>, the L6 will be Lepas&#8217;s second UK model following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-news\/new-cars\/lepas-l8-confirmed-uk-first-model-jaecoo-sibling\">flagship L8<\/a>,\u00a0which will arrive this summer to rival the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-review\/Mazda\/CX-5\">Mazda CX-5<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-news\/new-cars\/driven-toyota-rav4-gr-sport-%E2%80%93-transformed-not-how-you-think\">Toyota RAV4<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lepas (whose name is a portmanteau of &#8216;leopard&#8217;, &#8216;leap&#8217; and &#8216;passion&#8217;) is owned by Chinese giant Chery and has been created with a focus on the European market. It&#8217;s a sibling brand to Omoda, Jaecoo and Chery.<\/p>\n<p>The five-seat L6 will be offered with the choice of two powertrains, either plug-in hybrid or battery-electric.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The PHEV\u00a0uses the same 204bhp powertrain as the Jaecoo 7, which became the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-news\/new-cars\/jaecoo-7-becomes-uks-best-selling-car-march\">UK\u2019s best-selling car last month<\/a>. This combines a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and 18.3kWh battery.<\/p>\n<p>Lepas claims\u00a0the PHEV is good for 700 miles of combined range, but it hasn&#8217;t yet detailed how much of that is on the battery alone.\u00a0For reference, the 7 offers 56 miles of electric-only range.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The electric L6 draws power from a new 67kWh battery pack, which gives it a range of 270 miles. It can be rapid-charged from 30-80% in 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>This technology is a step up from its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-review\/jaecoo\/e5\">Jaecoo E5<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-review\/omoda\/e5\">Omoda E5<\/a> electric cousins,\u00a0which use a smaller 61kWh battery, have 257 miles of range\u00a0and take 28 minutes to charge the same amount.<\/p>\n<p>Lepas hasn&#8217;t yet revealed what motors the L6 will use, but expect output to be similar to the E5&#8217;s 208bhp.<\/p>\n<p>No details on the L6&#8217;s interior have been confirmed, but the larger L8 gives clues of what to expect.
