American Eagle Outfitters&#8217; stock\u00a0jump by 22%. &#8220;A vast, vast, vast majority of Americans understood that the campaign was about jeans,&#8221; Brommers says. &#8220;It was one story, her story.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sweeney, in a November\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gq.com\/story\/sydney-sweeney-gq-cover-story-interview-men-of-the-year-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GQ<\/a>\u00a0interview, said &#8220;the reaction definitely was a surprise,&#8221; a sentiment she reiterated to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/sydney-sweeney-shares-emotional-response-to-american-eagle-jeans-campaign-exclusive-11863206\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">People<\/a>\u00a0in December, adding, &#8220;I did it because I love the jeans and love the brand. So this is not about a payday. This is not about someone showing up and cashing a check,&#8221; Brommers says. &#8220;This partnership is deep. It is authentic, and it&#8217;s someone who is a very savvy business person and very understanding about her brand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The new products, like the original, support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crisistextline.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Crisis Text Line<\/a>, which offers free, 24\/7, confidential mental health support to anyone in need; 100% of the net proceeds from the shorts and jeans will be donated the nonprofit.
