TALLAHASSEE \u2014 Florida A&M University (FAMU) has announced the investiture of the 13<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0president,\u00a0Marva B. Johnson, J.D. The investiture ceremony and accompanying events will take place April 20\u201321.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the theme\u00a0\u201cFAMU Forward, Advancing Excellence,\u201d\u00a0the celebration will convene students, alumni, faculty, staff, community leaders, and national stakeholders to formally install Johnson.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is both an honor and a profound responsibility to serve as president of Florida A&M University,\u201d said Johnson. \u201cThis investiture is not simply a celebration of leadership, but a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and the success of every student we serve. Together, we move FAMU forward.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Before becoming FAMU\u2019s president, she was Group Vice President of State Government Affairs at Charter Communications, where she led efforts to bring broadband connectivity to underserved communities across nine southern states.<\/span><\/p>\n

Johnson holds a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.<\/span><\/p>\n
