\n When a group of mothers and wellness influencers, <\/strong>including surgeon general nominee Casey Means<\/a>, was asked to go to the White House this month, some of them <\/strong>assumed a few staffers would hear their grievances about the health risks of weedkillers.\n <\/p>\n

\n Instead, it turned into a two-hour session in a \u201cjam-packed\u201d room with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and the president himself stopping in, according to Alex Clark, a \u201cMake America Healthy Again\u201d influencer who was among the attendees.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThey just let us talk \u2014 they let us get everything off of our chest,\u201d said Clark, who hosts \u201cCulture Apothecary,\u201d a MAHA-themed podcast produced by Turning Point USA.\n <\/p>\n

\n There was a lot for Clark and the \u201cMAHA moms\u201d in the room to air. Top of mind was the commonly used weedkiller glyphosate and calls to reduce its use and investigate its safety.\n <\/p>\n

\n On Monday, the US Supreme Court heard arguments in a case<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>that could define a long-fought battle over whether one of the most commonly used weedkillers in the United States is safe \u2014 an issue that is being seen as a test of how much power the Make America Healthy Again movement can actually hold in Washington.\n <\/p>\n

\n The lawsuit against Bayer, the makers of Roundup \u2014 the brand name for glyphosate \u2014 will determine whether people can continue to sue the company over illnesses allegedly caused by its product.\n <\/p>\n

\n But regardless of its outcome, expected to be announced in June, the issue of limiting pesticides has long energized the MAHA base.\n <\/p>\n

\n Hundreds of protesters convened in front of the court ahead of the arguments, where speakers rallied attendees to push for more pesticide protections.\n <\/p>\n

\n
