Alex Pereira has undergone a body transformation for his shot at making history on June 14.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former UFC<\/a> light heavyweight and middleweight champion will be one of the biggest stars making the walk to fight on the White House lawn in a few weeks\u2019 time.<\/p>\n

Pereira will be fighting Ciryl Gane<\/a> for the interim heavyweight<\/a> title in the co-main event, marking a chance for \u2018Poatan\u2019 to become the first three-weight champ in UFC history.<\/p>\n

Many former middleweights would no doubt struggle to accumulate enough size for a title charge at heavyweight, but that is certainly not a problem for the Brazilian powerhouse.<\/p>\n

Alex Pereira will weigh over 240 pounds for the Ciryl Gane fight at UFC White House<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s hard to believe that Pereira<\/a> once competed at 185 pounds, where he knocked out both Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya in 2022 to become champion.<\/p>\n

After a knockout loss to \u2018The Last Stylebender\u2019 in their rematch, \u2018Poatan\u2019 moved up to light heavyweight and enjoyed a largely dominant stint in the division. <\/p>\n

His first title reign at 205 pounds ran through three successful title defenses, including Pereira\u2019s UFC 300 knockout of Jamahal Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After avenging his one loss in the division against Magomed Ankalaev, the Brazilian is moving up. He sees it as a natural career move, having outgrown a division in the UFC for the second time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a very heavy middleweight, and I was feeling it,\u201d Pereira told New York Post Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I\u2019m walking around like 113 (kilograms). And I was eating even more when I was at middleweight. At some point, it just becomes natural, your natural weight, and this is how I\u2019m feeling right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to be too heavy,\u201d he continued. \u201cThat\u2019s why we\u2019re going through a lot of protocol for that, a lot of planning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be about 110 kilograms (242 pounds).\u201d<\/p>\n

Some have already suggested that Pereira won\u2019t truly be the first three-division champion unless he beats Gane and goes on to unify the titles against Tom Aspinall.<\/p>\n

The Gane vs Pereira winner will fight Aspinall<\/a> later this year, with the Englishman preparing to make his return after recovering from double eye surgery.<\/p>\n
