Alexander Bublik is the latest to offer his verdict on the prospect of boycotting the Grand Slams, after the suggestion was mooted earlier this week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It feels like a phenomenon that has seemingly come out of nowhere, but this is a problem that has been bubbling under the surface for years now.<\/p>\n

Boycotts have been threatened behind closed doors, but nothing seems to change for the players seeking greater financial security and rights.<\/p>\n

However, with Aryna Sabalenka first threatening a boycott<\/a>, and other top players following suit, Alexander Bublik<\/a> has now thrown his support behind the movement.<\/p>\n

Alexander Bublik shares his thoughts on a potential boycott of the Grand Slams<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chatting with Tennis Channel<\/a> after his fine first-round win over Sebastian Baez at the Italian Open, he began by assessing his level.<\/p>\n

After all, it was a faultless performance from the Kazakhstani star, who was justifiably enthused afterwards.<\/p>\n

However, after the formalities were over, attention then turned to boycott talk.<\/p>\n

Bublik made his stance emphatically clear: \u201cI\u2019m with the players.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI mean, we deserve respect. We deserve more payments. We deserve that, I think.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has to be fair. It has to be respectful, it has to be fair to us, because what\u2019s happened in the past 30 years, and I\u2019ve spoken to the legends of the game like Stan [Wawrinka] and Gael [Monfils], you know, everyone who\u2019s been there for 20 years already, and it\u2019s been the same, or in some weeks, it was even worse. Now we have less prize money than it used to be. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you check certain tournaments, there is less prize money for the winner than it was like 15 years ago. There are some weeks like this, and I checked myself through the fact sheets, and so yeah, I think we deserve respect.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old even went as far as to suggest that, if he were to receive a text tomorrow telling him that the boycott was happening, he\u2019d be all in.<\/p>\n

Bublik added: \u201cI mean, I think Jannik said it perfectly, and Aryna as well. I mean, he said we deserve respect.<\/p>\n

      What have other top players said about a Grand Slam boycott<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      As Bublik touches upon, many of the other top players have discussed this topic at length lately.<\/p>\n

      However, it all seemingly started when Sabalenka took the lead, as she bravely stated: \u201cI think at some point we will boycott it, yeah.<\/p>\n

      \u201cI feel like that\u2019s going to be the only way to kind of, like, fight for our rights.\u201d<\/p>\n

      Sinner rallied behind his fellow world number one, adding: \u201cIt\u2019s more about respect, you know? Because I think we give much more than what we are getting back. It\u2019s not only for the top players; it\u2019s for all of us players. Again, from the men\u2019s and women\u2019s side, we are very, very equal.<\/p>\n

      \u201cOf course, we talk about money. The most important thing is respect, and we just don\u2019t feel it. I think we players, we are a bit disappointed also of the outcome of Roland Garros, for example. So let\u2019s see what\u2019s coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

      Coco Gauff was another who backed the boycott<\/a>, as she claimed: \u201cIf everyone were to move as one and collaborate, yeah, I can 100% see that [happening].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
