Jake Paul put his money where his mouth was against Anthony Joshua this past December. Five months later, there\u2019s a possibility it may have been his final walk to the ring.<\/p>\n

Paul, 29, suffered the second loss of his 14-match boxing career when Joshua stopped him in Round 6 of their heavyweight clash<\/a>. It was Paul\u2019s first time being finished and resulted in a gnarly broken jaw<\/a> that\u2019s kept him sidelined ever since. Speaking Monday on \u201cThe Ariel Helwani Show,\u201d<\/a> Paul revealed that he\u2019s expecting to get scans in the next few days to see how his injury is healing. But with his doctors not wanting to see Paul compete again, \u201cThe Problem Child\u201d has started to acknowledge that as a possibility.<\/p>\n

“We’ll see what my doctors say,\u201d Paul told Uncrowned regarding his fighting future. \u201cI’ll be able to get a more accurate timeframe, or can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm and possibilities of things [that I can\u2019t]. [The jaw] does feel a lot better as weeks and time goes by, but I definitely need to get cleared first to be able to spar.<\/p>\n

“Most definitely [my fighting future is in doubt],\u201d he added. \u201cIt just depends on how the bone heals. Then, also, there’s a tooth missing [in the back]. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to get an implanted tooth of some sort. I’m not sure how much time that’s going to add to things, but we just have to see and figure out what the smartest thing is for me.”<\/p>\n

Paul has already exceeded everyone\u2019s expectations since he arrived in the sweet science in 2018. Not only has he stuck with boxing, outside of competition he\u2019s also put a strong focus on the promotional side with his Most Valuable Promotions, which is set to host Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano this Saturday in Netflix\u2019s first MMA venture.<\/p>\n

Although Paul knows there\u2019s a reality he may have to face with an early in-ring retirement, he\u2019s still hopeful that things don\u2019t go down that road.<\/p>\n

“Those [doubts] have come up, but I’m not done,\u201d Paul said. \u201cI can just feel it in my spirit and my soul, and my heart that I have more fights left and unfinished business in my mind. Injuries are a part of any sport. I think potentially this could be a good outcome. You could tear an ACL and be out, and keep on tearing it and tearing it again. It’s just a part of any sport, and I definitely don’t think I’m done and want to keep on fighting.”<\/p>\n
