KCRA 3\u2019S MARICELA DE LA CRUZ JOINS US LIVE WITH A LOOK AT THE CONDITIONS IN DAVIS TONIGHT. MARICELA. YEAH. LISA. WHAT? WE\u2019RE STANDING RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE HOME IN DAVIS. YOU CAN STILL SEE THIS MASSIVE UPROOTED TREE LAYING ACROSS THE DRIVEWAY. AND ALL OF THIS HAPPENING AFTER THOSE STRONG WINDS, WE EXPERIENCED YESTERDAY. THE HOMEOWNER HERE TELLS ME SHE WAS INSIDE WHEN SHE HEARD THE TREE COME CRASHING DOWN A TREE THAT SHE BELIEVES HAS BEEN STANDING HERE FOR ABOUT 60 YEARS. FORTUNATELY, NOBODY WAS HURT IN THIS INCIDENT, AND THERE DOESN\u2019T APPEAR TO BE ANY MAJOR DAMAGE. BUT OF COURSE, RIGHT NOW THE PRIORITY IS TO GET THIS ENTIRE THING CLEANED OUT OF HERE. SO YOU CAN SEE CREWS ARE OUT HERE WORKING TO GET THIS REMOVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. BUT LET\u2019S GO AHEAD AND HEAR FROM THE HOMEOWNER ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. I IMMEDIATELY SAW THE BRANCHES IN THE WINDOW, AND THEN I KNEW, AND I HAD HEARD A TREE FALL BEFORE WHEN I LIVED IN ANOTHER TOWN. SO I IMMEDIATELY PUT IT TOGETHER. AND I STARTED CRYING BECAUSE I KNEW IT WAS THE TREE. SO I RAN OUT AND GOT THE TREE. AND YES, INDEED IT WAS ACROSS THE DRIVEWAY. NOW THE CITY OF DAVIS SAYS THAT MORE THAN 100 CALLS WERE MADE AFTER THE WINDS THAT WERE REPORTED YESTERDAY, ALL RELATING TO DIFFERENT INCIDENTS THROUGHOUT THE CITY. OF COURSE, RIGHT NOW WE HAVEN\u2019T LEARNED OF ANY MAJOR INCIDENTS OTHER THAN OBVIOUSLY WHAT YOU\u2019RE SEEING HERE. THIS TREE STILL LAYING ACROSS THE DRIVEWAY OF THIS HOME. BUT FOR NOW, WE\u2019RE LIVE. MARICELA DE LA CRUZ KCRA THREE NEWS. SO IS THERE ANY OTHER DAMAGE OUT THERE? NOT THAT WE CAN SEE. WE SPOKE TO THE HOMEOWNER. SHE TOLD US THAT YESTERDAY. SHE DID LOSE POWER FOR A FEW HOURS, BUT TODAY SHE\u2019S GOOD. AND AT THIS TIME AGAIN, CREWS ARE OUT HERE WORKING. SHE DID SAY THAT THERE IS SOME MINOR DAMAGE TO THE GUTTERS IN HER HOME, AND ALSO SOME HOLES ON THE ROOF, BUT AGAIN, NO MAJOR DAMAGE. AND SHE SAYS OVERALL SHE DOES\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

A woman was inside the home on Beech Lane when it fell Sunday at 11 a.m. The woman told KCRA 3 there’s damage to gutter and branches pierced some holes on the roof. 1:21 p.m.: PG&E reports it has given an all-clear to re-energize for 11 out of the 15 counties impacted by planned power shutoffs.When an all-clear is issued, crews can begin patrols, inspect electrical equipment for any damage and begin repairs before restoring power to customers. Of its 4,700 customers affected by this round of outages, PG&E said 2,00 customers have their power restored.The utility said peak wind gusts of 73 mph were recorded in parts of its service area.9:19 a.m.: PG&E announces that some Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, San Benito, Yolo and Fresno counties have received an all-clear to re-energize. Smoke from a nearby fire reduced visibility on the highway. The California Highway Patrol said Catlett Road remains closed for fire crews. 7:30 p.m.: It’s been a busy day for firefighters across the region. Sacramento fire crews are battling a two-acre fire at the Howe Avenue River Access along the American River Parkway. Crews said the fire is burning in heavy brush.7 p.m.: Highway 99 is closed at Cattlett Road in Sutter County due to a fire which is preventing visibility on the roads. Highway 70 is also closed in the area, Caltrans said. 5 p.m.: More than 5,000 PG&E customers are without power in El Dorado Hills. The utility’s outage map said the outages are unplanned and the time of restoration is 11 p.m.4 p.m.: 10,471 PG&E customers across San Joaquin County are without power. Only 308 of those customers are part of the utility’s planned power shutoffs.2:30 p.m.: The Dawson Fire in Stanislaus County has reached 200 acres burned, according to Cal Fire’s website. The fire is burning near Route 59 and Old La Grange Road. Route 59 is closed in the area. Forward progress has been stopped.1 p.m.: More than 7,000 SMUD customers are without power due to an unplanned, weather-related outage. The original restoration time was 12:20 p.m. 12:15 p.m.: PG&E customers in Yuba City, Live Oak and Olivehurst lost power due to an unplanned outage. The utility said the cause is under investigation and there is no estimated time of restoration. 11:45 a.m.: Nearly 16,000 SMUD customers lost service in Sacramento’s Pocket area and near the Sacramento Executive Airport.
