The showrunner explained why this beloved character\u2019s journey ends before the final episode and what drove the decision.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\">Eric Kripke confirms Soldier Boy is not in The Boys Season 5 finale<\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Boys creator Eric Kripke confirmed Soldier Boy\u2019s story ends in Season 5, Episode 7. The creator added that Homelander\u2019s trauma connects directly to both his father and his son Ryan. \u201cHis son abandoned him, and I just don\u2019t think he could handle being abandoned by his father,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The showrunner confirmed Homelander wanted permanent control over Soldier Boy\u2019s presence. \u201cNow, Soldier Boy is there forever. Ackles originally delivered a line referencing \u201cthe old Ford\u201d in the script. However, Kripke and director Phil Sgriccia changed it during post-production editing sessions together. \u201cPhil was like, \u2018Should it be Impala?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Yeah, it probably should be Impala,&#8217;\u201d Kripke recalled.
