(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox10tv.com\/\">WALA<\/a>) &#8211; A Robertsdale man who was employed as a contract postal worker for the U.S. Postal Service admitted that he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox10tv.com\/2026\/03\/30\/federal-judge-orders-detention-mobile-usps-worker-accused-stolen-mail\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.fox10tv.com\/2026\/03\/30\/federal-judge-orders-detention-mobile-usps-worker-accused-stolen-mail\/\">failed to deliver<\/a> hundreds of pieces of mail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Timothy Chandler, 23, pleaded guilty to delay or destruction of the mail. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to Chandler\u2019s written plea agreement, he had a delivery route that included homes and businesses. Robertsdale police responded on Nov. 29 to a complaint about a large amount of undelivered mail found last year found in an apartment recently rented to him. It was enough to fill about eight post office bins. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officers found mail on the living room floor, under chair cushions, in the stove, on top of cabinets and inside of the refrigerator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">More mail was in trash bags, and several greeting cards sent through the mail had been opened, according to the plea document. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Investigators also found 66 empty bins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A federal judge set sentencing for Aug. 31. Chandler faces a maximum of five years in prison, but prosecutors have agreed to recommend leniency. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><i>Copyright 2026 WALA.
