The latest new coin designed to commemorate the United States’ 250th anniversary<\/a> will begin circulating next week, according to the U.S. Mint.<\/p>\n In a May 25 news release, the Mint said it will begin shipping the 2026 Semiquincentennial quarter honoring the Declaration of Independence<\/a> to the Federal Reserve for distribution to commercial banks and financial institutions on Monday, June 1.<\/p>\n The Declaration of Independence Quarter<\/a> is the third of five new quarter-dollar designs for 2026. The obverse design features Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and third president of the United States, with inscriptions of “E Pluribus Unum,” “In God We Trust,” and “1776 ~ 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n The reverse depicts the Liberty Bell ringing, with the bell’s crack visible. The inscriptions on this side are “The Declaration of Independence,” “Quarter Dollar,” “Liberty,” and “United States of America.”<\/p>\n 1<\/span> of 21<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Treasurer of the United States Brandon Beach holds the last penny stamped at the US Mint on November 12, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Beach pressed the final pennies at an event held at the facility.
