The last price increase was in July 2025, when it increased from 73 cents to 78 cents. When it was introduced in 2007, the Forever stamp was 41 cents \u2014 it marks a 100% increase in 19 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Here&#8217;s what else to know.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\" data-jump-link-target=\"\" id=\"what-other-product-prices-are-increasing\">What other product prices are increasing?<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"mb-4\">\n<li class=\"ml-4 safari:ml-6 list-disc\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Letters (1 ounce): 78 cents to 82 cents<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ml-4 safari:ml-6 list-disc\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Letters (metered 1 ounce): 74 cents to 78 cents<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ml-4 safari:ml-6 list-disc\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Domestic postcards: 61 cents to 65 cents<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ml-4 safari:ml-6 list-disc\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">International postcards: $1.70 to $1.75<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ml-4 safari:ml-6 list-disc\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">International letter (1 ounce): $1.70 to $1.75<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The additional-ounce cost for single-piece letters will remain at 29 cents, according to the USPS.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\" data-jump-link-target=\"\" id=\"can-i-still-use-the-forever-stamps-i-have-now\">Can I still use the Forever stamps I have now?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Yes. Forever stamps, which were introduced in 2007 to help consumers with future stamp price changes, never expire. Their value is always equal to the current first class mail 1-ounce rate, even if postage rates increase, hence the &#8220;forever&#8221; name.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">These stamps are used to send domestic mail, including U.S. territories and military bases overseas, weighing up to 1 ounce through USPS first class mail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Forever stamps can also be used in combination with other postage when the weight is exceeded and additional postage is required.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\" data-jump-link-target=\"\" id=\"why-is-usps-raising-prices\">Why is USPS raising prices?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On April 9, the agency filed its intent to raise prices, citing mounting financial losses and other challenges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;In the midst of the severe financial crisis facing the Postal Service and continued rising operational costs, the Postal Service is using all available tools, including available regulatory pricing authority, to ensure we can continue to fulfill our universal service obligation and serve the American public,&#8221; the <a data-ylk=\"slk:USPS;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;cpos:3;pos:1;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/faq.usps.com\/s\/article\/2026-Postage-Price-Change\" class=\"link\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">USPS<\/a> said at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On May 21, the Postal Regulatory Commission released a <a data-ylk=\"slk:financial analysis report;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;cpos:4;pos:1;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/prc.gov\/press-releases\/prc-releases-report-analyzing-usps-financial-condition-postal-service-has-not-had\" class=\"link\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">financial analysis report<\/a> that found the USPS had a net loss of $2.7 billion for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2025.
