Landman<\/em><\/a> is \u2014 almost \u2014 back.\n<\/p>\n The gritty Paramount+<\/a> drama starring Billy Bob Thornton<\/a> will return to the small screen on Nov. 16. New episodes of the show will drop every Sunday until the series finale on Jan. 18, 2026. Landman<\/em> was officially greenlit for a second season in March 2025, the streamer<\/a> announced at the time, and will follow up on the shocking events of the season 1 finale.\n<\/p>\n The show, which was created by Taylor Sheridan<\/a> and is based on the 2019 Texas Monthly <\/em>podcast Boomtown<\/em>, centers around Tommy Norris (Thornton) as he navigates the struggles of working as a landman for an independent oil rig in West Texas.\n<\/p>\n As it plays out, he has to battle constant lawsuits, potentially hazardous working conditions and ever-evolving family drama. Season 1 premiered on Nov. 17, 2024, and became an instant hit for the streamer’s top original series of all time, according to a December 2024 press release<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n In addition to Thornton, the show also stars Demi Moore<\/a>, Jon Hamm<\/a>, Andy Garcia<\/a>, Michelle Randolph<\/a>, Ali Larter<\/a>, Kayla Wallace<\/a>, Paulina Ch\u00e1vez<\/a>, James Jordan, Mark Collie<\/a> and Colm Feore.\n<\/p>\n So, when does Landman <\/em>season 2 premiere? Despite the hope his wife, Cami (Moore), had for his recovery, his heart transplant surgery didn\u2019t go as planned. The finale\u2019s last minutes showed the CEO lying lifeless in a hospital bed, surrounded by Cami and their two daughters.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Though fans questioned whether or not Monty had actually died<\/a>, Wallace confirmed the character\u2019s death to Variety<\/em><\/a> in January 2025.\n<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you take one major player off the board, it opens up opportunities for other players,\u201d the co-creator said, \u201cand I think that\u2019s all I\u2019m at liberty to say at this point.”\n<\/p>\n One of those opportunities was made clear in Landman<\/em>\u2019s final episode when Tommy agreed to take over M-Tex, fulfilling his boss\u2019 final wishes. Thornton told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> in January 2025 that even though his character \u201cprobably doesn\u2019t want to\u201d lead as CEO, he\u2019ll do so out of a \u201cdebt to his old friend and boss.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Emerson Miller\/Paramount+<\/p>\n <\/span> Landman <\/em>season 2<\/a> is set to push Tommy to his breaking point.\u00a0“Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller, and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn\u2019t noble \u2013 it\u2019s brutal,” the official logline reads. “And sooner or later something\u2019s got to break.”<\/p>\n Thornton told the Los Angeles Times<\/a> <\/em>that he hopes to continue exploring his character\u2019s peculiar family dynamics and dive deeper into his new relationship with cartel boss Galino (Garcia), who saved him after he was kidnapped and tortured by a local gang.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n \u201cI would also hope that we explore the weird position that Tommy is in with Andy\u2019s character,\u201d the Goliath<\/em> actor said in January 2025. \u201cTommy isn\u2019t dealing with henchmen anymore. He knew how to deal with them. Additionally, Sam Elliott<\/a> has been bumped up to series regular.\n<\/p>\n As of July 2025, Guy Burnet<\/a>,\u00a0Miriam Silverman and Stefania Spampinato have all been officially added to the cast.\n<\/p>\n Spampinato will be playing Galino’s wife, according to Deadline<\/em><\/a>, while Burnet will play engineer Charlie Newsom.
