Born in Lindale, Texas, and raised in nearby Longview, she has more Academy of Country Music Awards to her name than any other country artists. The \u201cKerosene\u201d spitfire, 42, paid homage<\/a> to her home state with her ninth studio album, last year\u2019s Postcards From Texas<\/em>, which recalled her early hell-raisin\u2019 days with the fiery lead single \u201cWranglers.\u201d And during a recent stop at Lucas Oil Live at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma, Lambert again shouted out the Lone Star State with her performance of Ella Langley\u2019s latest hit, \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n The Dec. 26 show marked Miranda Lambert\u2019s first time singing the Hot Country Songs chart-topper live. Langley told the story<\/a> in October to a crowd in Oklahoma. Spoiler alert\u2014it involves Lambert getting pulled over in her car with a pet kangaroo for her passenger.<\/p>\n \u201cShe said the lady cop pulled her over, and she\u2019s like, \u2018Of course I have Texas plates on the back of my car,\u2019\u201d recalled Langley, 26. \u201c\u201c<\/strong><\/em>And I was like, \u2018She\u2019s from Texas, I can tell.\u2019\u00a0And from that phrase right there\u2026 I was walking to the bathroom and I started to go, \u2018She\u2019s from Texas, I can tell by the way he\u2019s two-steppin\u2019 around the room.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Thirty minutes later, they had \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas.\u201d The song centers around a woman from Tennessee who can tell she\u2019s losing her boyfriend to a romantic rival from Texas. Lambert added a personal spin to her performance in Oklahoma. \u201cDang right he is!\u201d she added at the end.<\/p>\n In addition to being a proud Texan, Miranda Lambert is also a devoted animal lover. Sadly, the \u201cTin Man\u201d singer recently experienced a pet owner\u2019s worst nightmare.
