Eva Marcille<\/strong><\/a> was one of the most notable America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em> contestants missing from Netflix\u2019s 2026 documentary series Reality Check<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Marcille\u2019s fiery personality and undeniable charisma earned her the nickname \u201cEva the Diva\u201d during the third cycle of ANTM<\/em>, which she won in July 2004. After winning a Ford modeling contract on the reality show, Marcille was actually managed personally by Tyra Banks<\/strong><\/a> and Benny Medina<\/strong> early in her career.<\/p>\n

Eva Marcille \u2014 then known by her birth name Eva Pigford \u2014 auditioned for America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em> cycle 3 in 2004. Her audition segment was introduced by judge J. Alexander<\/strong><\/a> saying that he was looking for \u201ca girl who can come in and deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eva made an immediate impression on Alexander and fellow judges Tyra Banks and Jay Manuel<\/strong><\/a> by strutting into the audition room and whipping off her sunglasses.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t compare myself to other girls,\u201d she boasted. \u201cI\u2019m Eva. I\u2019m no comparison to anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Banks immediately put Marcille in the hot seat when she revealed that \u201cabout 80 percent of the girls that come in here [to audition] have something negative to say about you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked by Banks if she felt \u201ca need to be nasty,\u201d Marcille quipped, \u201cI\u2019m not nasty and I\u2019m not negative \u2026 Instead of me being fake and acting like I like you \u2026 I\u2019m gonna act exactly how I feel!\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcille quickly earned the nickname \u201cEva the Diva\u201d on ANTM<\/em> and, though she clashed with other contestants, she excelled in the challenges. Banks announced Marcille as the winner of America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em> cycle 3 over Yaya DaCosta<\/strong> in December 2004.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is so unreal,\u201d a tearful Marcille told Banks after winning. \u201cOh my god! Beautiful? A model? Me? \u2026 I\u2019m a covergirl! This little tomboy from L.A. that has never been beautiful. I was not the cute girl in school. \u2026 [I came in here as] the one who had the most insecurities inside of them. Banks was so impressed with Marcille that she worked with Benny Medina to personally manage the ANTM<\/em> winner\u2019s career early on. Multiple media outlets<\/a> reported in November 2006 that Marcille had parted with her management team, including Banks.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Essence<\/em><\/a> in 2020, Marcille described Banks as \u201cthe epitome of a beautiful [and a] very smart girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c[Tyra is] a special human being. I think that you are amazing,\u201d she added. \u201cI think that your life\u2019s work has been impeccable. I think you have a zillion more years to live, but the ones that you\u2019ve lived thus far have been with grace and with dignity. You are inspiring and aspirational.\u201d<\/p>\n
