The third guest host of Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a>\u2018s maternity leave term arrived in Thursday\u2019s (February 26) episode of The View<\/a><\/em>, and things got off to a fiery start.<\/p>\n CNBC\u2019s Sara Eisen<\/a>, a financial news anchor for the network, stepped up to the panel\u2019s table on Thursday and was welcomed by moderator Whoopi Goldberg<\/a>, and she explained why she was thrilled to be a part of the group.<\/p>\n \u201cI have to say, I\u2019m very grateful to be here,\u201d Eisen said. \u201cThis is very different for me. I cover business news, the markets. I also am very appreciative of being at a table of women because I have three boys at home, two and a husband \u2026 so this is a nice change of pace.\u201d<\/p>\n When Goldberg then mentioned her interest in discussing money matters with her, things unraveled pretty quickly.<\/p>\n \u201cI do want to ask you about the market because it seems the market doesn\u2019t really pay attention to who\u2019s president,\u201d Goldberg said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe market likes who\u2019s president,\u201d Eisen argued. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of upbeat sentiment from companies and from investors about policies that are helpful for growth.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAre tariffs helpful for growth?\u201d Sunny Hostin<\/a> then argued.<\/p>\n \u201cThe tariffs usually wouldn\u2019t be helpful for growth, but they haven\u2019t been as bad as everyone expected. Everyone thought it would be massive inflation and the market would fall apart, the economy would fall apart. It hasn\u2019t,\u201d Eisen answered.<\/p>\n When Hostin then argued, \u201cIf you\u2019re wealthy, it\u2019s great. If you\u2019re middle class or under the middle class, it\u2019s not good at all,\u201d Eisen answered by suggesting everyone needs to be invested in the stock market more.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you get paid minimum wage, you don\u2019t have exposure to stocks,\u201d Hostin countered.<\/p>\n Goldberg then put the kibosh on the conversation, apologizing to Eisen for bringing it up, and Hostin noted, \u201cYou just got peppered with so many questions.\u201d Eisen was undeterred, though, saying, \u201cKeep it coming!\u201d<\/p>\n So who is Sara Eisen? The Richmond native, who studied at NYU and Northwestern, coanchors Squawk on the Street<\/em> for the financial news network and got her start at Bloomberg Television before joining CNBC.<\/p>\n She previously coanchored\u00a0Worldwide Exchange<\/em>, Power Lunch<\/em>, Closing Bell<\/em>,\u00a0and\u00a0Money Matters<\/em> for the network as well.<\/p>\n Eisen is the third guest host to sub in for Griffin after the birth of her son after Savannah Chrisley<\/a> and Amanda Carpenter<\/a>.<\/p>\n The<\/strong><\/em> View, weekdays, 11a\/10c, ABC<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
