Fox had with his &#8220;Spin City&#8221; castmates<\/a> about his medication management.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He had to save it. He couldn&#8217;t use it for rehearsals &#8230;&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/RrUMLNkZUMg\">McGinley told Rich Eisen in February<\/a>. &#8220;He had to save it for his life, for his family, and that was sort of Harrison&#8217;s speech.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[Fox] was saying &#8230; &#8216;I can feel myself atrophying. I&#8217;m safe here, so I&#8217;m not going to take this medication. I can only take so much because it&#8217;s the law of diminishing returns.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<partner-banner util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" fluid=\"\" bottom=\"\" lazy=\"\" class=\"spacer-large\" min-height=\"390\" outstream=\"\"\/>\n<p>Over the years, Fox and his &#8220;Spin City&#8221; co-stars have discussed how the actor would carefully time his medication to control symptoms during the live tapings. He doesn\u2019t have Parkinson\u2019s, but he\u2019s a brilliant actor,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/hollywood\/story\/harrison-ford-michael-j-fox-shrinking-parkinsons-interview?srsltid=AfmBOoqtS5fJjw7MlrKz8Fp-CEArDhnDU3GmucBE4WsMNngw9AJ-Y99z\">Fox told <em>Vanity Fair<\/em>.<\/a> &#8220;I don\u2019t have to convince him I have Parkinson\u2019s, but he had to convince me he had Parkinson\u2019s. What I wasn\u2019t prepared for was how much of his own understanding of the disease he brought to it. I mean, I recognized Parkinson\u2019s in his eyes. The things I was feeling, I recognized in the way he was expressing himself &#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<partner-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" placement=\"native-article_link\" sizes=\"[[300, 250], [3, 3]]\" min-height=\"250\" fluid=\"\" outstream=\"\"\/>\n<p>Writer and co-creator Brett Goldstein said Ford&#8217;s character was inspired by his father&#8217;s experience with Parkinson&#8217;s, something he initially didn&#8217;t want to discuss publicly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8B3AQvqkf2U\">but had to address when Lawrence accidentally revealed it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_19-0\">\u201cI called my dad, and I was like, \u2018Listen, Dad, Bill said about you having Parkinson&#8217;s. I hope that&#8217;s not a problem,'&#8221; Goldstein told Seth Meyers during an appearance on his late-night show. \u201cAnd my dad said, \u2018Are you telling everyone that I&#8217;m Harrison Ford?\u2019 And I said, \u2018Yeah,\u2019 and he went, \u2018F&#8212;ing cool. Go for it.
