\n The House Oversight Committee has released video <\/a>footage of the closed-door depositions of Bill Clinton<\/a> and Hillary Clinton<\/a> that occurred last week in Chappaqua, New York, as part of the panel\u2019s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.\n <\/p>\n \n The former president and secretary of State each faced roughly 4 1\/2 hours of questioning from Democratic and Republican lawmakers. Until now, everything that is known about the depositions was shared by people who were in the room.\n <\/p>\n \n Bill Clinton denied having any knowledge of Epstein\u2019s crimes during what he said at one point was the pair\u2019s \u201cbrief acquaintance.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t just an acquaintance either. I felt friendly toward him, but he was, as I said in my book, odd,\u201d Clinton said. \u201cThere was always something a little holding back.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Repeatedly, lawmakers showed the former president photos<\/a> of himself with women from Epstein materials recently released by the Justice Department, asking if he had sex with them. Each time, he told them he did not, two sources familiar with the testimony said.\n <\/p>\n \n At one point, the panel homed in on a particularly well-known photo of Bill Clinton in a jacuzzi with a woman, her face redacted. Nick Langworthy of New York.\n <\/p>\n \n When asked if he engaged in sexual activity with the redacted person, Clinton said no.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI don\u2019t know who that is,\u201d Clinton said when asked who the person was.\n <\/p>\n \n The former president said he thought everyone in the pool area was part of his travel party, which included Jeffery Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and a team working on Clinton\u2019s AIDS initiative. Clinton and his team showed an additional photo that was described to show the larger area with a pool next to the hot tub.\n <\/p>\n \n Clinton said he was \u201calmost sure\u201d that the photo had been taken during a trip to Brunei where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference was being hosted in 2000.\n <\/p>\n \n Clinton stressed that the Sultan of Brunei insisted that he stayed at the hotel and encouraged him to use the pool.\n <\/p>\n \n Bill Clinton told the panel while his note to Epstein appears in the convicted sex offender\u2019s 50th birthday book<\/a>, he did not consider Epstein a \u201cfriend\u201d and that he\u2019s written \u201chundreds and hundreds\u201d of birthday greetings to people over the years.\n <\/p>\n \n Clinton, asked whether he knew of Epstein\u2019s \u201cinappropriate activities\u201d at the time that he penned the note, responded: \u201cAbsolutely not. He has a behavioral tell,\u201d she said. \u201cWhenever he is worried about being found out himself, he accuses somebody else of doing what he actually has done. And it\u2019s just a pattern with him.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cSo, it\u2019s no surprise to me that all of a sudden what he promised in his campaign to reveal, everything about the files, and then when his people began looking at the files and realized how potentially incriminating they were of him, all of a sudden, that was no longer the focus,\u201d she added.\n <\/p>\n \n Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina repeatedly goaded Hillary Clinton to share her reactions to photos showing her husband, Bill Clinton, with women and Epstein. The latter part of Clinton\u2019s presidency was derailed by his marital infidelity.\n <\/p>\n \n Hillary Clinton repeatedly declined to weigh in on the photos she had seen. Lauren Boebert of Colorado shared the photo with conservative influencer Benny Johnson.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI\u2019m done with this,\u201d Clinton said. \u201cIf you guys are doing that, I am done. You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home. This is just typical behavior.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cOh, for heaven\u2019s sakes,\u201d an exasperated Clinton added.\n <\/p>\n \n Boebert eventually said she would take the photo down. (Publicly, Boebert has been unapologetic.)\n <\/p>\n \n Democrats asserted this was a violation of House rules and the discovery of the image being shared caused the deposition to be paused while the two sides negotiated how to move forward.\n <\/p>\n \n The Clintons had repeatedly said they wanted to appear in public.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI will confess, that I had some concerns about whether the majority on the committee would treat me fairly, and would you know fairly convey what I say and what I did and I how I looked and how I responded,\u201d Clinton said at one point, adding that if the hearing was public the photo would not have been an issue.\n <\/p>\n \n Clinton told the committee he didn\u2019t recall ever meeting Epstein at the White House when he was president.\n <\/p>\n \n A lawyer for the committee\u2019s Democratic side informed Clinton that their records indicate that Epstein had visited the White House 17 times between 1993 and 1995 \u2013 years when Clinton was president.\n <\/p>\n \n Clinton said that while he has now seen a photograph from a White House Historical Association reception, he doesn\u2019t have specific recollection of seeing Epstein at that event. As for the other 16 times that Epstein was recorded as having visited the White House, Clinton said \u201cI don\u2019t think I did\u201d meet with Epstein.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI don\u2019t know who he saw,\u201d Clinton added.\n <\/p>\n \n Clinton said he \u201cdoubts\u201d he was a target of alleged intel operations related to Jeffery Epstein.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI don\u2019t (know),\u201d Clinton said when asked if he knows if he was ever targeted. \u201cI\u2019d sort of be surprised, but I don\u2019t know.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Numerous members of the oversight committee asked Clinton if he was a \u201cvictim\u201d of \u201ctargeting\u201d or \u201choneypot\u201d operations. The released Epstein files have sparked ongoing conspiracy theory that Epstein was working as an intelligence agent for Israel\u2019s Mossad or Russia.\n <\/p>\n \n CNN has previously reported that documents showed Epstein attempting to cozy up to Russian officials<\/a>.\n <\/p>\n \n When asked if he if he was ever informed by Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell that they were affiliated with any intelligence agencies, either in the US or foreign, Clinton said no, and that he also did not suspect it.\n <\/p>\n \n Rep. Mace asked Hillary Clinton how she knew Howard Lutnick in the early 2000s and the deposition got heated.\n <\/p>\n \n At the time Lutnick, whose ties to Epstein have emerged<\/a> while now serving as President Donald Trump\u2019s Commerce Secretary, was leading a New York City firm that was devastated by the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack.\n <\/p>\n \n When Clinton started answering how she knew Lutnick, Mace interrupted her. An unidentified voice instructed Mace to let Clinton finish.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cYou asked the question. I\u2019m going to answer your question\u201d Clinton said, appearing to raise her voice.\n <\/p>\n \n Mace shot back: \u201cI\u2019m a survivor trying to look out for other survivors\u201d adding that the panel had waited six months to hear Clinton\u2019s testimony.\n <\/p>\n \n Clinton, who was a senator from New York at the time of the attacks, banged the table as she responded: \u201cI was taking care of the people who lost 3,000 lives at the World Trade Center.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Mace accused Clinton of being \u201cdefiant and indignant\u201d in her responses.\n <\/p>\n \n The GOP lawmaker was questioning whether Clinton ever tried to solicit money directly from Epstein.
