McDonald\u2019s CEO Chris Kempczinski went viral on social media after appearing deeply unenthusiastic about eating one of his own burgers.<\/p>\n
In a video Kempczinski posted on Feb. 3, 2026, to Instagram<\/a>, the CEO filmed himself eating the new Big Arch Burger. Although the post initially flew under the radar, once people online latched onto it, they very quickly turned the video viral with quips and jokes at the CEO\u2019s expense.<\/p>\n After introducing the burger and reassuring viewers that he would be eating it for his lunch later, Kempczinski opened the box and said, \u201cHoly cow,\u201d with seeming excitement.<\/p>\n However, that excitement was short-lived as he tried to remember all the ingredients that went into the burger and called it a \u201cproduct\u201d instead of\u2026 food? A meal?<\/p>\n While he technically ate a bite of the burger, he barely committed to it. Kempczinski took a small bite and seemed to have a moment of realization of what he was tasting before nodding and excitedly describing what he just ate as a \u201cbig bite for a Big Arch.\u201d<\/p>\n People had a lot to say about what they considered the stilted and stiff performance on the McDonald\u2019s CEO\u2019s part. On X, @MikeBeauvais<\/a> joked, \u201cNot to get all \u2018Simpsons did it,\u2019 but Simpsons did it.\u201d<\/p>\n Similarly, @inkedupjayy<\/a> tweeted, \u201cIt\u2019s giving squidward trying a krabby patty for the first time<\/p>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n \u201d<\/p>\n Others focused on the word choice. @evilcassieroll<\/a> wrote, \u201cwhen the ceo calls it product instead of food you know its got less nutritional value than the napkin.\u201d<\/p>\n Some users went further, explaining that this was the best possible McDonald\u2019s<\/a> burger they could provide for the video.<\/p>\n @Nick_TopG<\/a> tweeted, \u201cEven crazier when you think that this was made in HQ by corporate chefs. This burger (I mean product) is worlds better than anything you would ever get at an actual McDonald\u2019s, and he still wanted nothing to do with it.\u201d<\/p>\n Perhaps the sharpest summary came from @RoyalMelanite<\/a>, who added, \u201cWatching the McDonald\u2019s CEO tentatively nibble on the Big Arch like it\u2019s a radioactive artifact from the dollar menu, calling it \u2018product\u2019 instead of food, is the most unintentionally hilarious endorsement fail since New Coke.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>
