Speedy wide receiver\/return specialist Rashid Shaheed is not close to a contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks and is expected to test the market when NFL free agency begins next week, according to a report from ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a> on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n ESPN\u2019s Fowler: Seahawks likely to lose \u2018a bunch\u2019 of their FA class<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Shaheed is one of six notable pending free agents for the Super Bowl champion Seahawks. The NFL\u2019s free agent negotiating window begins at 9 a.m. Monday, with the official signing period beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n Projections from various sites project Shaheed\u2019s value on the free agent market to be roughly $13-14 million per year<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Seahawks acquired the 27-year-old Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints at the Nov. 4 trade deadline in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round draft pick and a 2026 fifth-round pick.<\/p>\n Shaheed was a game-changer for Seattle on special teams, scoring on two punt return touchdowns and a kick return touchdown. Shaheed had a 58-yard punt return TD that sparked the Seahawks\u2019 dramatic Week 16 comeback win over the Los Angeles Rams, and a game-opening 95-yard kick return TD that ignited an NFC Divisional Round rout of the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n Shaheed didn\u2019t put up big stats as a receiver, totaling just 18 catches for 266 yards across 12 regular-season and postseason games with Seattle.
