This offseason, the Texans have already added one new starter and could be in the market for up to two more, including Teller.<\/p>\n He was officially released with a post-June 1 designation, a procedural move for the Browns that results in him hitting free agency.<\/p>\n CBS Sports\u2019 Jordan Dajani suggested the Texans make the move for Teller.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Houston Texans again have to revamp their offensive line this offseason,\u201d CBS Sports\u2019 Jordan Dajani wrote<\/a> on March 14. \u201cIn this hypothetical, we have a former Brown going to Houston in Teller, who was CBS Sports\u2019 No. 93 available player in this free agency class.\u201d<\/p>\n The Houston Chronicle\u2019s Jonathan M. Alexander listed Teller as the top option for the Texans at this stage of free agency.<\/p>\n Alexander noted the \u201cexpectation\u201d that the Texans will pursue Teller, whose game has flaws.<\/p>\n \u201cHe allowed just three sacks last season, but a 9.8% quarterback pressure rate, according to NFL\u2019s Next Gen Stats, which was worse than Laken Tomlinson<\/a> \u2014 whom the Texans cut in December,\u201d Alexander wrote<\/a> on March 14.<\/p>\n \u201cTeller\u2019s strength is in the run game, which could help Houston\u2019s efforts to improve its rushing attack.\u201d<\/p>\n Getty<\/span>Wyatt Teller #77 of the Cleveland Browns runs onto the field before a game against the Baltimore Ravens<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Teller was the 166th overall pick of the 2018 draft. He began his career with the Buffalo Bills<\/a>. Buffalo traded him to Cleveland in 2019, and he has since earned three Pro Bowl nods.<\/p>\n He is a different player at this stage of his career, with injuries a significant factor.<\/p>\n \u201cTeller was an All-Pro at right guard with the Browns in 2020 and 2021. He is no longer that level of player, but he is still good enough to start somewhere in 2026,\u201d The Athletic\u2019s Daniel Popper wrote<\/a> in February. \u201cTeller remains an effective, physical mauler in the run game. Spotrac projected<\/a> a three-year, $30.5 million pact; again, roughly $10 million in annual salary. The Texans gave $63 million in new contracts to sign Braden Smith<\/a> in free agency and re-sign Ed Ingram<\/a> and Trent Brown<\/a>.<\/p>\n They have also been linked to various centers in free agency to no avail.<\/p>\n Teller could be a fallback option for the Texans should he remain available in free agency through the draft, though that risks another team stepping up to sign him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n\t\t\tJosh Buckhalter<\/strong><\/a> covers the NBA and NFL for Heavy.com.
