CHICAGO (WLS) — Multiple rounds of storms are expected to move through the Chicago area Tuesday.
Morning storms could bring lightning, downpours and gusty winds and even hail possible through 9 a.m., ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist Tracy Butler said.
The greatest threat for storms comes Tuesday evening between 5-11 p.m., Butler said.
Most of the Chicago area is under a Level 3 Risk for severe storms. Hail and wind are the primary threat from the severe storms, with a risk for tornadoes as well.
A ground stop was issued for arriving planes at O’Hare Airport Tuesday morning. It has since been lifted.
