NiJaree Canady and the Texas Tech Red Raiders will take on Delainey Everett and the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Thursday in the opening game of the NCAA softball Women’s College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
Last year’s national runner-up, Texas Tech (57-7) defeated Florida in the Gainesville Super Regional, wrapping up Game 3 in just five innings.
Mississippi State (43-19), led by former OU star Samantha Ricketts, upset the Sooners with a Game 3 shutout to win the Norman Super Regional, leaving OU out of the WCWS for the first time in a decade. The Bulldogs are making their first WCWS appearance.
