According to the National Weather Service briefing Monday morning, conditions will turn increasingly unstable through the day, with strong to severe storms expected to develop this evening and overnight.

The primary concern is a window from roughly 9 p.m. through 1 a.m. locally, when storms are most likely to impact the Owensboro area.

Forecasters say the threats include:

Damaging straight-line winds up to 70 mph
Large hail up to 2 inches in diameter

Owensboro is not in the core of the highest-risk area but remains on the eastern fringe of the severe weather threat, where dangerous storms are still possible.
